Double-humped camels are called Bactrian camels. Camels bodies are built to withstand extreme conditions, they can survive in temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Their bumps are stuffed with fat used when food is scarce. Bactrian camel heads are rectangular, but wild Bactrian skulls are flatter. Their noses are muscular narrow slits and can be closed to block dirt and sand. But despite this camels have an excellent sense of smell. Bactrian camels are between 225 to 350 centimeters long. From the top of their humps to the ground, they are about 213 centimeters tall and can weight between 300 and 1000 kilograms. They are the largest camel species, males are larger than the females.Bactrian Camels are omnivores, they prefer to eat shrubs, including feather grass, tamarind trees, and saxaul trees, they will eat whatever they can find. Camels won’t kill other land animals, but they will eat carcasses that they find. They are found in central Asia. Specifically the Gobi Desert of northern China and southern Mongolia.

Independent Review | These are the views of the independent Good Toy Guide experts on the play value of our animals: "These wooden collectible animal figures are fantastic for open-ended and imaginative play, which is the superfood of a healthy play diet. This is because it provides so many opportunities for children to build social skills, make sense of the world around them and develop language. As they play together and form a story, children have to negotiate roles, listen to others, use creativity and practice speech to communicate what is happening. The animals also feature beautiful detailing including ridges and curves which makes them very tactile and calming to touch. They proved very sturdy too, standing up to vigorous and messy play. It would be lovely to build up a collection of the figures over time to play with, that could then be handed down between family or friends." |
